Paul Morris, One of the owners of the Business Design Centre has been awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours list.

Paul Morris joins his brother Jack, who is chairman of the Islington-based venue and received his award in 2005, as an OBE for his services to Finsbury Park.

"I am delighted to be recognised for the efforts that I have made over the past 25 years and my contribution to Finsbury Park and Islington," said Paul Morris.

In 1985 Morris was co-opted onto the board of the Finsbury Park Community Trust, which he served on for six years. Morris represented this organisation when he joined the board of the Finsbury Park Partnership (FPP), the newly formed regeneration organisation which was created with a £25,000,000 Single Regeneration Budget grant from central government.

He chaired the FPP for seven years. At the end of this program he was asked to temporarily chair the newly formed ‘Finfuture’. Morris chaired this organization until just four weeks ago, ending an unbroken support for Finsbury Park spanning twenty-five years. He is also as Freeman of Islington and Councillor for Bushey Heath.
