What a few weeks we are having here at the BDC! It’s fantastic to be able to announce, that our event teams at the venue have not only won one, but two awards for outstanding levels of customer service.
The first arrived on the 17th June as team members attended the AEO Excellence Awards in the wonderful surroundings of Grosvenor House. This award ceremony represented the crème de la crème from the events industry, including recognition of organiser’s achievements and venue service quality. The ceremony kicked off with the one and only Lenny Henry who presented the afternoon along with a special appearance from BGT’s Storm Troopers. With over 20 awards to be distributed it was sure to be a fun afternoon filled with celebrations and an unforgettable moment for the Venue Services team who collected the award for Venue Team of the Year.
Next in the diary was the Conference Awards which took place on the 1st July at Tobacco Dock. The evening began with a lively networking session in the courtyard where over 600 delegates gathered to begin the celebrations of their achievements. This 7th annual ceremony was hosted jointly by Stephen K Amos and Pippa Evans who kept guests entertained all afternoon.
The BDC Conference team were delighted to be finalists in two categories but winning Best Conference Venue Customer Service (for over 600 delegates) was the icing on the cake of a particularly busy year! With the judges stating that ‘this was a very strong entry’ and that they ‘loved reading the examples of where the team went the extra mile’ the ladies in attendance were understandably very proud. Head of Conference & Digital Operations, Kate Simpson commented;
“It is absolutely fantastic to be recognised at an award winning level for the hard work and dedication the team has shown over the last 12 months. It has been a busy year with more events in the calendar than ever so to be able to celebrate this award with both our clients and suppliers is wonderful. It follows our Venue Services department winning the AEO Venue Team of the Year last month which really demonstrates the level that both departments and currently operating at – a great achievement shared by the whole company.”
