12 Blogs of Xmas: Day 7 ~ Terry Cormack

09.12.2016 12 Blogs of Xmas: Day 7 ~ Terry Cormack

Next up for the #12blogsofXmas is our very own Loading Bay Manager Terry Cormack….

How long have you been working at the venue and what’s your favourite thing about working here?

Over five years now. I love that there’s always something new; whether it’s a bit of maintenance here and there or the shows which are varied, it’s just a lovely environment to work in.

Who is the most festive person in your office and how does your team celebrate?

Well – ME. I run the logistics of the loading bay but there are always people working with me. Whenever I get a chance in the office I’ll put on a few Christmas tunes.

This year the family and I are heading to Ireland on Boxing Day. We fly out there then hire a car to do some travelling for five nights. It’s great getting a chance to spend some time with family and heading off for a few days exploring.

What’s your favourite local spot to have some festive food and drink?

There are so many options on Upper Street – you’re really spoilt for choice. You can’t beat Mem and Laz though can you?! Its great food, you know what you’re getting and it’s nice atmosphere in there.

Your favourite Christmas tradition, song, food, film?

Film? Love Actually. Song? Chris Rea – Driving Home for Christmas.  And tradition, well that’s got to be putting the tree up. We get everyone over and the kids all help – it’s a real one, there’s something about the smell – it just makes Christmas.

Food, well, I’m not a lover of Turkey so we always have another kind of meat. I like lamb but it’s not really the time of year for it so usually we have a ham as well.

What does the New Year have in store for you? Do you have any New Year’s Resolutions?

I don’t make resolutions but at work I’m really looking forward to some new shows, some new teams to work with and above all, new challenges to work on. Keeps things interesting!

Take a look at our other #12blogsofxmas to find out how the rest of the team will be celebrating Christmas.
