12 Blogs of Xmas: Day 12 ~ Georgina Clark

16.12.2016 12 Blogs of Xmas: Day 12 ~ Georgina Clark

As the #12blogsofxmas draws to a close, we end with Georgina Clark from Silent Gliss who has been a tenant at the BDC for over 30 years! Let’s take a look at how she likes to spend her Christmas outside of the venue…

How long have you been working at the venue? What’s your favourite thing about working here?

I have been based at the venue for over 30 years now. My favourite thing about working here has to be the people in the building. I do work in the office on my own so it is great to be surrounded with people that I get on with.

How does your team celebrate Christmas?

We tend to have two parties to celebrate the festive period! We attend the tenants Christmas party which the BDC hosts, then after that we head on to another location. We do like going to either Shoreditch or Brick Lane. However if we want to stay local the VIVO on Upper Street is always on the list.

Where is your favourite local spot to have some festive drinks? (Or maybe Christmas markets in London?)

There is usually a Christmas Market on Islington Green, which I think they are installing at the moment. I love the little stalls that they have. I also like going over to St Pauls they host a Christmas Carol Service every year which puts me in the festive mood. If we stay local then i do like going over to Belalnger for a drink and the food there is great.

What is your favourite Christmas song, food, film?

My favourite song has to be Driving Home for Christmas by Chris Rea. My husband and I love listening to this song at Christmas, we search for it on the radio whenever we are driving! I will definitely be watching ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’, I watch it every year, it’s my favourite film. Food wise, I just love a roast with all the trimmings, I always cook the Christmas dinner so I make sure everything is included.

What does the New Year have in store for you and your company? Do you have any New Year’s Resolutions?

I want to make sure I do something different, either see something that I haven’t seen before or eat something I have never tried! It’s my big birthday next year so I want to try and do something special, maybe even go on Safari! We have a busy year next year and we are looking forward to having the events back in the venue such as Surfaces.

We hope you have enjoyed our #12blogsofxmas! Make sure you keep an eye out for our Coming Up in 2017 post next week to see what events we will be hosting in the New Year.

Merry Christmas from all at the BDC!
