BDC Ride for Local Charity Islington Giving
Over recent months a team of Business Design Centre (BDC) staff have been in training for the ride of their lives to raise funds for the extraordinary local charity, Islington Giving. In August, twelve members of staff, with the help of two support drivers, will be embarking on the Angel2Angel cycle ride.
The expedition will see the team cycle 325 miles from the Angel of the North, near Newcastle, to the Angel, Islington. The challenge over six days will see our cyclists pass through the North Yorkshire Moors, through Nottinghamshire, passing Cambridge before reaching Islington. The BDC has sponsored all the costs of the ride so that every penny raised will go directly to the people who need it.
Member of the organising committee Emma Clarke comments, “I am really excited to be able to support the incredible work that Islington Giving is doing in our local community. This challenge has been a work in progress for a while and it feels great to finally see it come together. We are now looking ahead to starting the journey and thank everyone who has supported us so far.”
The venue has always looked to support its local community and with this challenge and your help we are aiming to raise £25,000 for Islington Giving.
The charity, launched in 2010, is taking action to improve people’s lives in Islington, a borough of stark contrasts where wealth sits alongside poverty. It aims to create opportunity and encourages people to give what they can, be it money, time or talents, to make a real difference to the local community. To date has supported over 40 fantastic local projects.
We appreciate everyone who supports the great work they do so if you would like to find out more or sponsor us on our ride from Angel2Angel, you can do this by visiting our Virgin Money Giving page.
