Country Living Magazine Spring Fair
If you’re anything like us, then you’ll be counting down the days until it gets lighter and the frosty winter mornings are firmly behind us. Here at the BDC you can join us in welcoming spring at the annual Country Living Magazine Spring Fair – and this year they have really outdone themselves! From the 18th to 22nd March, the Fair will be bringing the pages of the magazine to life throughout our venue.
Starting off don’t miss the Country Living Talks Theatre, where experts from the team including editor Susy Smith, home design editor Ben Kendrick and gardening editor Stephanie Donaldson will be taking part in exclusive Q&A sessions. With advice on everything from home interiors and soft furnishings to how to keep livestock or the best way to choose a colour scheme – you can get all the help you need.
Spring would not be complete without the first chance to get out in your garden but the CL Team are bringing it inside just for you. This year’s installation is designed by Lucy Summers who has cleverly created a 1970s inspired plot, complete with a VW campervan covered with plants, fruits and veg! The Glamping Garden also hosts an exciting programme of talks to enjoy a taste of the good life, from grow-your-own vegetables to keeping chickens and bees.
For all those budding artists coming down to Islington, you can take advantage of the many classes in the Craft & Create Rooms. From block-printing classes to needle-felting, patchwork and quilting, you can really make the most of your visit. The experts will also be showing you how to make delicious chocolate bunnies just in time for Easter!
With over 350 exhibitors on top of the plethora of fantastic activities you’ll be truly spoilt for choice when it comes to a little bit of spring shopping for some new additions to your home. If all of that is not quite enough for you, then you can take a break in the new fine dining restaurant where a fabulous menu of fresh, seasonal, locally sourced plates embodies the magazines core principles. Alternatively, you can grab a glass of fizz and something tasty from a range of delicious sandwiches, cakes and pastries at the Champagne Bar and Birchall Tea Rooms.
There’s a chance to browse the stalls and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine with classical music on Thursday’s Gala evening from 5.30 to 9.00pm and VIP Packages for the show are also still available. With everything from handmade ceramics and beautiful woven blankets to unique vintage pieces and original artwork plus, fashion ranging from luxurious cashmere knitwear to striking accessories – the Fair is the perfect time to inject a bit of spring into your step (and your home and wardrobe too)!
