How to minimise environmental impact when you hold your event at the BDC.

Reduce, reuse, recycle

Try to use recyclable materials for your event items such as displays, lanyards, guides etc. Make sure you take all your waste home with you.

Setting up your event

To reduce your environmental impact, use a logistics company to bring in all your kit in one go. We work with WES for logistics, while our preferred large-scale print company, Onward Display, can print your materials on-site. No delivery required!

Looking after your guests

Please help your guests contribute to the sustainability of the event. For example, ask them to bring refillable water bottles. They can fill them up at any of our chilled filtered water stations.

Make a stand

Please ask your exhibitors to order their stands at least two weeks in advance so that we can plan quantities and staffing. They can use our paperless online ordering system.

Branding

Can you reuse your branding from previous events? Or print materials without dates or event-specific content that you can store and reuse? Every little helps.

Waste

We have bins on-site for every different type of waste, so we can separate everything at source. Please let us know what containers we will need at your event.

Offsetting

Would you like to offset the (hopefully minimal) carbon emissions that come from your event? An example could be your attendees’ travel. Why not set up an offsetting programme.
