The BDC runs a small team across five departments responsible for day-to-day operations at the venue. We love to promote from within, which is why three-quarters of our staff have been with us for five years or more. It’s no surprise the BDC has won the Exhibition News Award for Best Employer four times since 2011, as well as the AEO Venue Team of the Year twice. In 2016, Investors in People accredited us with their Gold Standard award.

Every year we take on 2-3 third-year university students to carry out a year-long internship where they learn the ins and outs of the events industry. Many come back to work with us permanently after they finish their studies. Here is some feedback from one of our previous interns.
