Take a look at the number of new and interesting bars, restaurants, cafés and hotels around Islington.

Upper Street never disappoints with new restaurants, bars & cafes popping up and with the January detox over why not take a look at where you can enjoy a quick lunch, dine with colleagues or grab a drink after your event at the BDC. We also have a number of hotels that are within the local area that organisers, delegates or visitors to events can book to save the long journey home after a full day’s conference or exploring an exhibitions here.

Starting off is Rosa’s Thai Café which is only minutes walk away from the BDC. Rosa’s has opened its 6th Café here in Islington offering an authentic Thai feel with a modern twist. It’s got a relaxing interior for any time of the day to either grab a bite to eat at lunch or a meal with friends before heading off to the theatre. Rosa’s café also will deliver to a number of areas in North London along with collection so if you are in a rush back to the office why not pick up one of Rosa’s favourite curry’s stir fry’s or salads. Rosa’s also offers a recipe book of over 100 dishes that can be purchased through their website.

Haverstock Hotel is another new find for us and is located only a 15 minute tube journey away from the BDC. This converted town house is now a complete 19 bedroom boutique hotel with a number of different bedroom set-ups all with a TV Sky and complimentary Wi-Fi along with toiletries dressing gowns and tea and coffee facilities. For the warmer months each room is fitted with Air-con. Haverstock Hotel also includes their continental breakfast with each booking. The team are offering a discounted price for all guests that are visiting the BDC; please contact a member of our Venue Sales Team who will be happy to provide a code to take advantage of this.

Up next is Brewhouse and Kitchen a hidden gem in Islington’s crown. This fantastic pub come restaurant is less than a minute round the back of Angel tube station. With a relaxed atmosphere for either a drink after work or lunch with a client Brewhouse has its own unique feature set at the back of the pub. Their own in-house microbrewery with 14 very different beers on offer sets them apart from the norm! The team also offer extensive tasting sessions or experience days where you are able to take in all the expert’s knowledge whilst relaxing in one of the comfy booths around the bar.

Finally on the list is Jamon Jamon which was formerly George and Nicky’s then Sangria. Transformed last year this loved Islington restaurant was opened and welcomed BDC staff with open arms. The restaurant has a real Spanish feel to it with a very traditional set–up from the minute you walk in. Jamon Jamon has now been extended with a glass roof at the back of the restaurant offering both natural daylight and can accomodate up to 100 people at any one time.
