As the festive season rolls in, Angel transforms into a twinkling wonderland of lights, laughter and local charm.

Whether you are a resident or visiting, this vibrant corner of North London offers a delightful mix of Christmas cheer, from neon-lit markets to cosy pub trips, you can experience a bit of everything this Christmas. Take a look below for our highlights this festive period…
Angel Central
Starting on Friday 14th November, Christmas is coming to Angel Central with their Annual Light Switch On, where all ages can enjoy the variety of activities including, Santa’s grotto where children can meet Saint Nick himself, share their Christmas wishes, capture a magical keepsake photo and take home an early gift. Spaces are limited so make sure you book now!
The festivities will continue throughout November and December in the centre with bustling sustainable markets, dazzling live performances of all the Christmas Classics and Disney favourites and free kids workshops by Little Angel Theatre, including craft sessions, face painting, neon hair braiding and even airbrush tattoos. Continuing the festivities, are Angel Islington’s BID. On Saturday 15th November, there will be a North Pole Post Office at the old Northwood Pub (2nd Floor of Angel Central), where children can post their Christmas list and a letter to Santa as well as meet the elves. There will also be a stage with Like the Beatles, a school choir and a sneak peak of the Kings Head’s Panto, along with facepainting, stories and crafts.





Good HouseKeeping Live with Country Living Christmas Market.
A staple in the Christmas calendar is this bustling four day Christmas extravaganza which combines the charm of Country Living’s artisan market with the lifestyle expertise of Good Housekeeping. You can experience:
- Over 140 artisan makers and independent brands showcasing gifts, décor, fashion and festive treats.
- Artisans Gallery which is new for 2025 and will spotlight emerging small businesses and unique handcrafted products.
- The festive food marketing and artisan food hall will have tastings and live cookery demos.
- Champagne bar and pampering by L’Oreal Paris including personalised skincare and makeup sessions.
- Celebrity speakers and stages featuring stars such as Clare Balding CBE, Mary Portas OBE, Alexandar Armstrong, Steph Mcovern, Will Lyons and many more (some talks are VIP Access Only).

Festive Feasts & Party Venues
Angel is brimming with venues perfect for Christmas parties and activities. From Flight Club Islington with interactive darts and prosecco receptions, The Angelic Islington serving up gourmet dishes like wild venison haunch and black forest fondant, Lucky Voice singing their way through all the classics in private karaoke rooms, Electrowerkz providing the perfect space for a Christmas disco with your colleagues or a festive DJ session at The 411, Angel has you covered. If you are a looking for a theatre evening you can enjoy Cinderella at Kings Head Theatre, and Scruff’s Christmas Adventure, Rosie Robin and the Christmas post at Little Angel Theatre.
Shop Locally, Gift Thoughtfully
Angel is full of independent shops and festive markets that make holiday shopping just a little bit different. From Camden Passage’s vintage finds to Islington Squares rare finds, you can find your loved one, friend, family or colleague the perfect gift. Not only will you find something different but you are also supporting local businesses and keeping the local economy up and running. You’re sure to find unusual presents that will make your Christmas shopping stand out thanks to its combination of well-known brands and independent shops.
Once again Islington Giving, in conjunction with Angel Islington are selling Christmas Crackers to support local community organisations offering connection, joy and practical support to vulnerable Islington residents. Each cracker sold will enable local groups and organisations to run a variety of activities from art workshops to boost mental health, cooking clubs bringing men together over food and safe spaces for mothers and carers. Make sure to keep your eye out in Angel Businesses for your chance to buy some crackers and win prizes if you find a golden ticket that are hidden in some of the crackers.
