Find out the best way to travel to the BDC during the planned strikes across the London Underground network in September 2025.

Planned Strike Action

Transport for London have detailed advice regarding planned strike action that will impact the London Underground network in September. Strikes are currently expected on the Tube and DLR as follows:

  • From Sunday 7th to Thursday 11th September 2025, Tube services will be severely disrupted, with little to no service expected.
  • Any services that do run between Monday 8th and Friday 12th September will start later than usual with no service before 08:00.
  • On Tuesday 8th and Thursday 11th September 2025, there will also be no service on the DLR.

Other TfL services, including the Elizabeth line, London Overground and trams, will be running normally but are likely to be extremely busy.

We will update this page as and when we get further information,  but for more information on the strike action, visit the Transport for London website.

Getting to the BDC

Business Design Centre is located in a well-connected area of London, with numerous bus routes and cycle lanes, as well as close by Overground and National Rail stations. You can also drive to the venue, situated outside of the Congestion Charge Zone.

Take a look at Nearby, which uses your current position, a postcode or address of your choice, to show you bus, rail and Santander Cycles locations around your location.  For further information, take a look at travel options below:

National Rail Services

The venue is within a walk or bus ride from National Rail services, with a clean air walking route from London Kings Cross to Angel, Islington. Take a look at the National Rail website to plan your journey.

London Overground Services

London Overground will still be running and there are a number of stations within walking distance to the venue. You can visit the TfL Journey Planner to find the best route for you to the venue.

Bus Routes

Islington is served by many bus routes that stop outside the venue and nearby. You can take a look at the best journey for you or to plan ahead on the TfL Bus Journey Maps.

Cycling

If you choose to cycle to the BDC, we offer free cycle storage in our on-site car park. You can also rent Santander bikes from several hire stations in the Islington area. In addition, we have several shower facilities on site at the venue, which can be used on arrival.

Driving

It is easy to reach the BDC by car – and although we are a stone’s throw from Central London, we are not in the Congestion Charge Zone. Visit our Parking section to find our address for your sat nav and to pre-book your parking space
