Find out the best way to travel to the BDC during the planned strikes across the London Underground network in April 2026.

Transport for London has detailed advice regarding planned strike action that will impact the London Underground network during April and May 2026. Strikes are currently expected across the whole Tube network. There is the expectation that reduced services will run across most lines, but please allow extra time for travelling. It is also advised to look at alternative routes. 

Strikes are currently planned on the following dates: 

  • 21–22 April (12:00 Tuesday – 11:59 Wednesday)

  • 23–24 April (12:00 Thursday – 11:59 Friday)

  • 19–20 May (12:00 Tuesday – 11:59 Wednesday)

  • 21–22 May (12:00 Thursday – 11:59 Friday)

Other TfL services, including the Elizabeth Line, London Overground and trams, will be running normally but are likely to be extremely busy.

Transport for London has detailed advice regarding planned strike action that will impact some bus routes during April and May 2026. Should these go ahead, some services will be severely delayed and buses may be cancelled.

Strikes are currently planned on the following dates:

  • 1718 April (05:00 Friday to 05:00 Saturday)

  • 24–25 April (05:00 Friday to 05:00 Saturday)

  • 15–16 May (05:00 Friday to 05:00 Saturday)

Please be aware that planned Tube strikes are also taking place on 24–25th April, making the services significantly busier than normal.

The Business Design Centre is located in a well-connected area of London, with numerous bus routes and cycle lanes, as well as close by Overground and National Rail stations. You can also drive to the venue, situated outside of the Congestion Charge Zone.

National Rail Services

The venue is within a walk or bus ride from National Rail services, with a clean air walking route from London Kings Cross to Angel, Islington. Take a look at the National Rail website to plan your journey.

London Overground Services

London Overground will still be running and there are a number of stations within walking distance to the venue. You can visit the TfL Journey Planner to find the best route for you to the venue.

Bus Routes

Islington is served by many bus routes that stop outside the venue and nearby. You can take a look at the best journey for you or plan ahead on the TfL Bus Journey Maps.

Cycling

If you choose to cycle to the BDC, we offer free cycle storage in our on-site car park. You can also rent Santander bikes from several hire stations in the Islington area. In addition, we have shower facilities on site at the venue, which can be used on arrival.

Driving

It is easy to reach the BDC by car – and although we are a stone’s throw from Central London, we are not in the Congestion Charge Zone. Visit our Parking section to find our address for your sat nav and to pre-book your parking space.
