Inside Everywoman Festival: a one-day event dedicated to women’s health, empowerment and education, featuring insights from the organiser.

Making its debut at the Business Design Centre on Saturday 13th June 2026, Everywoman Festival is a brand-new addition to our summer events calendar. Designed to support and empower women at every stage of life, the festival will bring together expert-led talks, practical workshops and interactive sessions in a vibrant, accessible festival setting.
With just over two weeks to go, we caught up with the Everywoman Festival organiser Professor Julie Cornish to learn more about the event and what attendees can expect on the day.
5 Minutes with Everywoman Festival
For anyone new to it, what is the event all about?
The Everywoman Festival is a one-day women’s health event covering a wide range of health topics delivered by experts in a fun and accessible way. It features six dedicated speaker areas as well as workshops, trade stands and art sessions. Everywoman Festival aims to educate, empower and support women and girls across a range of health topics (with free tickets for 12-18-year-olds).
The event is a social enterprise set up by Professor Julie Cornish, a colorectal surgeon, in response to seeing too many women presenting with health issues that could have been addressed much earlier through education and awareness.
What will attendees gain from the day, both practically and personally?
Attendees will get access to:
- All talks, delivered by 70+ speakers on a range of topics from menopause to cancer, menstrual health to gut health and more
- Practical education, confidence and empowerment
- Free art workshops
- A goody bag and a programme
The aim of the festival is to help women understand their bodies better. It’s for all stages of life – you don’t need to have a health problem to attend. We want to keep women healthy and active and stop things from developing.
Attendees will be able to listen to doctors and other health experts, speak to charities, ask questions and learn about what’s normal and when and where to seek help. Not to mention being part of a vibrant community of people who will make them feel empowered and supported. All of this and more in a fun jam-packed day.
Why was the Business Deisgn Centre the right home for Everywoman Festival 2026?
The BDC offers a fantastic central London location, with the scale and flexibility needed to host a festival-style event. Its accessible Islington setting and experience hosting large‑scale consumer and wellbeing events made it the ideal home for Everywoman Festival’s London debut.

In its first edition, there were only two speaker areas – the Main tent and the Gut Hut. The festival has since grown all speaker areas, with topics that are of interest to many women, such as:
- Education for younger women and parents
- Supporting women and partners through pregnancy and recovering physically and mentally from childbirth (no matter how long ago it was) in the Birth and Beyond Tent
- The Cancer and Survivorship Tent
- The Menopause Tent
Which session is unmissable for first timers?
There are too many! The Menopause Tent is always popular, but the Education Area is also really fun. There will be a gynaecological assault course, or you can sit and perform surgery with a robot.
Which session or workshop do you look forward to the most and why?
The Nutribollox session on the main stage with Dr Megan Rossi and Dr Liz O’Riordan. Women in the UK spend around £150 per year on supplements and this goes up to £1,800 per year after the age of 40. As a doctor, I’m interested in learning more about the evidence for supplements that many of my patients take and also talking about some of the misinformation that’s out there, particularly around cancer.
When it comes to women’s health, what topic do you think needs more open conversation, and what role can events like Everywoman play in that shift?
If attendees remember just one thing at the end of the event, what would it be?
Believe in yourself. You know your own body, so listen to it and don’t just accept things as normal. Ask for help!
