Inside Black Book: the exciting new luxury travel trade show bringing together industry leading brands and carefully selected travel advisors.

Black Book luxury travel show, BDC

This October, the Business Design Centre will open its doors to Black Book 2026, a brand-new event for the luxury travel industry that promises to bring together some of the sector’s most influential brands, advisors and decision-makers.

Taking place on 21-22 October at our Islington venue, this two-day trade event has been designed to help businesses forge meaningful relationships, maximise their time and discover new opportunities in the world of luxury travel.

Ahead of its debut, we sat down with April Hutchinson, Head of Luxury at TTG Media, to discuss the inspiration behind the event, the trends shaping luxury travel and what attendees can expect from two days of high-value networking and industry insight.

5 Minutes with Black Book

For anyone new to Black Book, what is it all about?

Everyone is new to Black Book, as this is a totally new luxury travel trade show, launched by TTG Media, an established media and events business in the UK.

The show will take place on 21-22 October 2026 at the wonderful Business Design Centre with the strapline of Where Luxury Travel Meets. Our aim is to bring together 150 carefully-vetted luxury travel advisors and more than 100 premium hotel, cruise, destination, airline and experience brands to represent the luxury landscape. They will come for two days of pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings, inspiring conference content and meaningful networking.

Each travel advisor is hand-picked through a rigorous application and vetting process – including securing references about them – and this will help to ensure the relationships formed are high-value for both sides. The trade show is boutique in scale, deliberate in curation, and unlike anything else in the UK luxury travel space currently.

What inspired TTG Media to launch Black Book and why is now the right time?

Black Book was born out of nearly two decades of TTG Luxury’s presence in the luxury travel space and out of a very clear signal from independent research carried out among both advisors and suppliers that the market would relish something new.

The travel landscape has changed dramatically, and suppliers told us they needed better, more reliable access to verified, serious luxury sellers in an increasingly fragmented advisor landscape. Advisors told us they wanted smarter, more time-efficient access to a curated community of luxury brands – and a chance to build their own ‘black book’ of contacts and inspiration.

The timing feels exactly right: luxury travel is one of the fastest-growing segments in the entire travel industry, the advisor model is having a genuine renaissance, and the appetite for face-to-face relationship building has never been stronger post-pandemic. Black Book is the event our market has been asking for.

Several themes are defining the luxury travel landscape right now:

  • The rise of experiential travel over material luxury is an ongoing growth area, with clients who want transformation, not just five stars – and we have plenty of exhibitors across the board to speak to that.
  • The emergence of a new generation of luxury travellers, younger and more values-driven than before is also key – again, these are interesting conversations our attendees will be having among themselves.
  • The growing commercial power of the independent luxury travel advisor in an age of complexity and AI noise is huge right now – and we are loving seeing agents lean into their power here.

There’s also a rapid growth of ultra-luxury supply – particularly in cruise – which comes with the need to convert a much wider pool of luxury travellers who haven’t yet discovered the category; our headline partners include Explora Journeys, a cruise line whose president will speak to this in conversation with myself on stage.

All sessions are designed to give advisors practical tools and perspectives they can take straight back to their businesses – and those general conversations they have amongst themselves will also give them the reassurance and renewed vigour they need.

What are you personally most looking forward to when the doors open in October?

All of it... Our entire team is working so hard to bring this to life and we cannot wait just to get those doors open!

The moment the room fills up on the morning of 21 October and I look around and see the community we’ve built – advisors, brands, partners – all in one place for the first time will be hugely rewarding.

Black Book has been a labour of love for all of us, and for me personally, it’s the culmination of nearly two decades of work in this space. I’m excited for the conversations I know will happen – the advisor who discovers a brand that inspires them to share and book it with a client; the supplier who meets an advisor who could become their most loyal partner. Hopefully, there will be little moments of magic across the whole two days – and long after.

Why was the BDC the right home for Black Book?

"This was as an easy choice for us.Using Business Design Centre showcases from the get-go the nature of the show: a purpose-built exhibition format that’s perfectly suited to the structured appointment model at the heart of Black Book, with each exhibitor having their own private meeting booth/space. BDC’s heritage, central London location and its connectivity all matter too. And what sealed it was the sustainability story, which aligns with our own values — the BDC is a B-Corp certified business, making it genuinely aligned with the values that TTG Media and the Black Book community hold. For a debut event, we wanted a venue that said something about who we are. I think the BDC does exactly that. "

Event Programme

Next, we asked April about the programme and what you can expect when attending Black Book this October:

What part of the programme do you think will deliver the greatest value to attendees, and why?

The appointments are the engine that drives Black Book – with 34 pre-scheduled, 15-minute, one-to-one meetings per day in private booths on the show floor.

This is where the commercial relationships are built and the product knowledge is deepened. Excited exhibitors will meet with engaged advisors in a focused, quality way.

Our hosted hotel programme is a value driver too – for an advisor who sleeps at a Maybourne hotel or wakes up at Corinthia London (for example), they arrive at the show with additional first-hand product knowledge. This is a business that thrives on relationships: that person you meet over a drink, or at the lunch table or bump into along the way (as well as the official meetings) could be invaluable down the line – we are here to make all that happen, with the minimum of fuss or effort for our attendees.

Black Book is also run alongside the Top 20 Luxury Travel Agencies programme, an awards initiative which will reach its conclusion during a glittering gala dinner on 21 October, where many guests from the show will be also.

If attendees can only attend one conference session, which would you recommend and why?

Ah, hard to pick one… what I can say is that each session is designed to prioritise what agents need, not product pitches, and every session is practical, provocative or both: it’s not necessarily about headline speakers/big names, as such.

But – I will say we are working with PWC to create a session that will give people fuel for strategy based on the buying habits of affluent consumers in the UK. We will also reveal findings of our own research into the travel advisor landscape that should prove useful for all. There will be a conference hour each day, with three stages, and attendees should go to what speaks to their business need the most.

What will attendees gain from the event?

Well, for travel advisors, Black Book not only delivers up to 34 pre-scheduled one-to-one appointments with luxury brands across two days (an extraordinary depth of relationship-building compressed into an efficient, structured format), we also add in morning conference sessions inspired by what agents need to build their business, as well as networking breakfasts, hosted lunches and a closing drinks reception.

Black Book exhibitors will have access to 150 vetted, serious luxury sellers in a focused environment where every conversation counts – they will leave with new or revived relationships, having freshly engaged agents. Everyone will be part of a genuine community of like-minded luxury travel professionals.

Advisors also benefit from being hosted overnight in carefully selected partner hotels across London which additionally gives them first-hand product experience to directly benefit their clients – and the hotels get to have amazing agents stay with them on-property to showcase what they have to offer. We will also have other exciting activations too – watch this space!

Who can attendees expect to meet and what connections can be made?

On the advisor side, every attendee has been through a rigorous vetting process including detailed applications, references, and a review of their luxury credentials. These are some of the UK and Ireland’s most serious, most commercially active luxury travel professionals.

On the exhibitor side, these have been sourced to truly represent the full luxury travel ecosystem: leading hotel brands and groups; ultra-luxury ocean, river and expedition cruise lines; premium airlines; top destination tourism offices; DMCs and tour operators; high-end rail and road options; and specialist experience providers. The show is built on a sophisticated mutual-match system too, so each one-to-one meeting is designed to be relevant for both sides – the relationships forged over two days at Black Book have the potential to shape our attendees’ businesses for years to come.

Looking Ahead

Black Book represents an exciting addition to the Business Design Centre’s 2026 event calendar, highlighting the continued growth of specialist trade events within the venue and joining an already diverse programme of exhibitions focused on logistics, sport, home fragrance and technology.

Black Book 2026 takes place at the Business Design Centre, London, on 21–22 October 2026. We look forward to welcoming the luxury travel community to Islington this autumn.
