Always a local favourite; Almeida has had a makeover. Find out more...

What better than wrapping up the hard working event day than with good food, great wine and a relaxing luxurious environment? Lucky for those visiting the BDC the local area has this and more on offer and all within walking distance. One of our favourites, Almeida Restaurant is less than a stone’s throw from the exhibition and conference facilities and we can guarantee that you will love it.

Whether you would like to pop in for post-event drinks or before heading over to Almeida’s very own theatre the new bar is to be its own entity entirely. Guests can enjoy a seasonally changing list of cocktails with some equally delectable bar snacks to accompany them. If it is something more substantial then move from the bar into the restaurant for some of Islington’s finest foods.

Recently re-opened the new interior is contemporary reflecting Michelin-trained head chef Tommy Boland’s concept for the restaurant’s food. Seasonally inspired and made with the freshest produce guests can expect a variety from taramasalata and crispy squid to roasted grouse with celeriac puree on the menu. Tommy is also introducing a tasting menu offering five courses for £45 per person including pan-fried John Dory with caramelised cauliflower wild rice brown shrimps and Swiss chard. Dishes are tailored on a daily basis dependant on the quality of produce available.

Almeida is also removing its standard wine list and will instead offer wine to guests which should complement their dishes. With a host of knowledgeable staff on hand to help guests will only be able to view the extensive range of over 80 bins from their ‘Wine Wall’ where bottles will be available with tasting notes.

If you would like to find out more about Almeida or any of the other bars and restaurants available in our local area then take a look in our food and drink section.
