The new kitchen and bathroom design event is to launch at the BDC in September 2027.

The Business Design Centre will welcome an exciting new addition to its events calendar in 2027 with the launch of KBX, a kitchen, bathroom and interior specification event designed to bring together brands, designers, specifiers and industry professionals.

Taking place from 15-17 September 2027, the event will combine product discovery, expert content and networking opportunities under the banner “Design. Specify. Connect.”

The launch has already attracted major brand support, including Blanco, Haier, Miele, Quooker, alongside a number of other leading names from the sector.

More Than a Trade Show

While KBX will showcase leading kitchen and bathroom brands, its ambition extends beyond a traditional exhibition format. Through immersive experiences, specialist content and year-round engagement, organisers aim to create a platform that supports innovation, collaboration and long-term industry connections.

The programme

KBX will offer opportunities to discover kitchen and bathroom products, explore ideas for forthcoming projects and meet brands working across residential, hospitality and commercial design. The announced programme includes:

  • The Kitchen of Tomorrow in partnership with Quooker: an immersive showcase exploring the technologies, robotics, sustainability and human-centred design influencing the kitchens of the future.
  • KBX Wellness: exploring how wellness-focused products and technologies can shape future bathrooms and living spaces.
  • KBX Stage: a live programme of industry conversations, presentations and interviews.
  • FutureKitchen Conference in partnership with Quooker: a conference programme bringing research and industry thinking into discussions about the future of kitchen design and specification.
  • X-Over Bar: a design-led meeting space combining contrasting futuristic and organic design approaches.

Building connections beyond the event

Alongside the live event, KBX’s year-round partnership programme will give participating brands opportunities to build visibility through coordinated marketing campaigns, content, editorial opportunities, introductions and meetings with relevant industry professionals.

The organisers plan to work with a limited number of invited brand partners on 12-month campaigns shaped around their commercial objectives and the audiences they want to reach. The aim is to build connections before, during and after the exhibition, rather than treating participation as a standalone booking.

designerati Awards 2027

The event will also host the designerati Awards 2027 on Thursday 16 September, recognising excellence across kitchen, bathroom and living-space design.

Bringing Design Events to the BDC

Home to a thriving community of design businesses and a long-standing host of design-led exhibitions and events, the Business Design Centre is a natural fit for KBX’s launch.

"The Business Design Centre has long been a home for design and innovation. Our Grade II listed building is home to a community of design businesses, making it a natural setting for an event bringing together the kitchen, bathroom and specification sectors."We are delighted that The Assembly has chosen the BDC for the launch of KBX 2027. We pride ourselves on providing the space and support for events to launch, grow and thrive, and look forward to building a long-term relationship with the team."

"At The Assembly, we believe the live event should be the pinnacle of a much bigger relationship, not the beginning and end of it.Beyond the three-day event, KBX will work with a curated collective of brand partners on 12-month programmes shaped around their commercial objectives, combining coordinated marketing campaigns, content, introductions and meetings with relevant industry professionals, creating value before, during and long after the show itself."

Looking Ahead to KBX 2027

With major brand backing, exciting content plans and a focus on long-term industry engagement, KBX is set to become an exciting new addition to the UK design events calendar.

We look forward to welcoming show to the Business Design Centre in September 2027 and supporting it as it embarks on its first edition.
