The Business Design Centre can cater for many events within the venue, from exhibitions and conferences to banqueting. The below spaces are available to create your event to your specific needs:

Our Main Exhibition Space


The Mezzanine (pictured above) is located in the centre of the venue covering over 2,000 square metres. With an abundance of natural light this space is perfect for large exhibitions.

It's proximity to the breakout rooms makes the space ideal for a conference to run alongside a large exhibition.


Twenty four bay areas around the level above the Mezzanine provide additional space for exhibition stands on a show. These look down onto the main hall space which is perfect to tie the two areas for one event.

Our Conference Space


The Gallery Hall is a multi-purpose space and can be used for exhibitions, large conferences and for a conference as a catering area. The Gallery Hall offers 890 square metres of beautifully lit space. The Gallery Hall is fitted with a Hearing Loop to ensure that all delegates can experience clear sound quality.

The Gallery Hall is situated next to the venues conference centre which is ideal to use in terms of breakout rooms. The Gallery Hall registration area is suitable for an admin area and for registration. For your convenience it is also equipped with the following:

A tannoy system to the Gallery Hall, multiple wired Internet connections, a dedicated phone line and handset, photocopier, power sockets, purpose built cloakroom facilities, digital signage screens, conference stationery kit, laptop with Internet connectivity and a colour scanner/printer. 

Overlooking the Gallery Hall is the Gallery Atrium which is provides additional space for catering, stands and is often used for drinks receptions.


The Auditorium offers a large space which can seat just over 500 delegates. Tiered seating is available for up to 268 and can be extended depending on your needs.

The Auditorium can be used for both theatre and classroom style events and has easy access to all the syndicate rooms.

There is space for an AV custom set build within this room. The motorised ceiling truss rig has pre-installed lighting and sound equipment that can be hired directly from Aztec Event Services - this includes general spotlights, stage wash lights and lighting control desk. There are 6 loudspeakers with amplification. The Auditorium is fitted with hearing loop facilities to ensure that delegates can experience clear sound quality. This area also has full black out facilities.

Due to our partition walling, the Auditorium can also be used with Rooms D-H combined which creates one large open conference space to accommodate up to 700 theatre style (dependent on AV set size). This allowing for the Gallery Hall to be used for your catering and exhibition space alongside the large plenary.


Room A is an ideal size for conferences for up to 250 guests. The room contains a partition wall which can break it down for smaller events and to create a walk way to other syndicate rooms. 

This room is positioned close to the Gallery Hall which ideally can be used for catering however there is also easy access to syndicate B which can also be used.


Syndicates B-H are ideal spaces to use for break out rooms, boardroom meetings and seminars. Each room seating between 60 – 90 delegates, can be changed through the use of partition walls to fit your event specification.


Located on the ground floor, the recently refurbished Executive Centre offers a total of 125 square metres of space and is perfect to host workshops, board meetings and training sessions amongst other events. This versatile space can accommodate up to 90 delegates theatre style or 45 cabaret style with space for a catering area. The recent refurbishment includes lounge seating which is ideal to use as a breakout space, along with our new conference chairs, boardroom table and plasma screen with a laptop connectivity.

Internet Access

We have completed a major investment and upgrade to our internet and wireless system which we believe makes us one of the leading UK venues in terms of infrastructure and the capacity on offer. Our access is fed by a 1Gb fibre optic pipe provided by Virgin Media and is distributed through our purpose built Cisco network based on the 802.11 standard with a wireless transmission of up to 300Mbps.
This network is made up of over 50 Access Points which can now accommodate an impressive 500 simultaneous devices to log on in both the Gallery Hall & Auditorium plus across the Mezzanine Area using a secure password which can be anything you wish and perhaps an event sponsor or partner.

In addition to our Wi-Fi access, we can also offer wired internet connections over our Category 5e Network cabling infrastructure for up to 20MB ideal for conference streaming or high demand exhibitors.  

Complimentary Wi-Fi Access: BDC_OpenZone

We now offer completely free Wi-Fi available to all visitors at the Business Design Centre at a speed of 256Kbps. Actions on the complimentary service will be restricted to general activities such as checking emails. For streaming videos and delegates/exhibitors requiring a higher rate connection we advise opting for the password protected Wi-Fi coverage as detailed above. This will allow a higher speed uncontested connection and you can be safe in the knowledge that your delegates/visitors will be receiving a dedicated service
