In a world where design meets functionality and hospitality is elevated through craft, tableware brands are reimagining what it means to gather around the table.

At the Business Design Centre , there are many renowned brands doing just that. From heritage-rich porcelain to precision-engineered cutlery and trend-led hospitality solutions, Villeroy & Boch, Nevilles, Amefa and others each bring their unique approach to the art of dining.
With showrooms nestled within the creative hub of the BDC, these companies are thriving in a space that champions innovation, connection and sustainability.

Stepping into the Villeroy & Boch showroom is like entering a curated gallery of refined living. For Managing Director Carl, the brand’s appeal is rooted in more than design. “We’re not just selling plates or glasses — we’re part of life’s everyday moments and big celebrations,” he shares. “Whether it’s a quiet breakfast, a family dinner, or a festive gathering, our products help create atmosphere, connection, and memory.”
Carl joined the company seven years ago, combining his commercial background with a passion for tradition and storytelling. He describes Villeroy & Boch as “both timeless and evolving” — a rare blend that fuels his continued enthusiasm.
Their space on the second floor of the BDC has allowed the team to bring the brand’s history and craftsmanship to life. “The BDC has a dynamic and creative energy,” Carl says. “It’s a space where heritage and modernity meet, which aligns perfectly with who we are.” Opening their first dedicated Dining & Lifestyle showroom in the UK marked a major milestone and offered customers a fully immersive brand experience.
Carl’s approach to showroom success is practical and intentional: “Visual impact is essential,” he notes, suggesting bold entrance designs, interactive touchpoints, and live product demonstrations. “We also focus on hospitality, creating a welcoming lounge space where visitors can connect, discuss ideas, and relax.”

Established in 1965, Nevilles specialises in innovative tabletop, barware, and buffetware designed for the HoReCa sector. We spoke to Kelly and Kaye from the Neville’s team to learn more about their journey at the BDC.
Their GenWare range is now distributed in over 50 countries. Having been based at the BDC since 2017 and then expanding to a larger showroom in 2019 – the brand has found fresh ways to engage directly with the market.
“The brand is usually more in contact with distributors,” says the team. “So being at the BDC allows for gaining insight by talking to end-users directly.” This has helped the business stay on the pulse of consumer needs and trends.
Being in Angel has also opened up new opportunities. “It’s a thriving testing ground,” they explain, with nearby test kitchens and a steady stream of hospitality professionals passing through. Events like HIX have been especially impactful. “This has helped us grow the business internationally.”
In celebration of their 60th year, the team recently hosted a collaborative launch event alongside other tableware brands. “Over 120 people joined us for the day,” they share. The event allowed visitors to explore multiple brands in one visit, creating a more efficient and enjoyable experience.
As for drawing people into a showroom, the advice is simple: “It has to be relevant, enticing and easily accessible.”

Founded in 1931, Amefa originally manufactured razor blades before becoming a specialist in cutlery and kitchenware. We spoke to Zora, who manages Amefa’s national accounts, to learn more about the brand that is now one of Europe’s leading suppliers across hospitality and retail.
Since joining the BDC in June 2023, Amefa has made the most of the new setting. “Having a space big enough to display a large collection of our wider portfolio in London, where a lot of our key customers are based, allows concepts to be visualised,” Zora explains. “Cutlery often needs to be physically seen and held to make an impact.”
Amefa has also embraced community-focused collaboration, hosting Innovation Days to spotlight their sustainability initiatives and latest product launches. “We highlight these alongside other catering equipment suppliers that are also BDC tenants,” Zora shares.
