Discover Islington has evolved into a series highlighting all the fun things to do in Islington, the area in which the Business Design Centre is located. Our first instalment covered food, our second covered drinks and the newbies in Angel, and now we have arrived at activities and experiences. In this article, we will cover some of the great things to do and see in Angel, Islington.

Islington activities and experiences

We do not fall short of things to do after a long day of work. With Vue Islington a minute walk away from the BDC in Angel Central surrounding a large variety of shops, check out what is on and head down for a laid-back evening watching a movie.

After a long day of work, there is nothing like a good movie and some popcorn. Vue is just a minute away from BDC in Angel Central, which offers a large variety of shops. Check out what’s on and head down for an evening to relax while watching a new release.

Screen on the Green is also another movie hotspot. Located a short-walk away when you turn left off the BDC forecourt, Screen on the Green is a one-screen cinema facing Islington Green, and is actually one of the oldest and longest-running cinemas within the UK. Catch an iconic movie with food and drink being bought to your seat or sofa; sounds like heaven, right?

In our previous episode where we delved into Angel’s world of bars, we mentioned Laki Kane, which is a unique and vibrant bar experience with attention on both the drinks and décor. However, it doesn’t stop there. The bar offers a 2-hour long rum making experience in their upstairs distillery, which is both interactive and educational on all things rum. With tasting sessions, complimentary cocktail, a gift bag to take away and knowledge acquired and shared by world-leading rum ambassadors, this one can’t be missed.

Fancy singing your heart out to iconic and legendary tunes? Lucky Voice is Islington’s favourite karaoke spot, where you can grab a drink if you need your confidence fuelled to belt out your favourite songs, and a bite to eat too. Lucky Voice fits up to 30 people per session with private rooms; the perfect place to get your entire team out!

Birdies is Islington and Angel’s hottest new mini-golf experience; after its success in their Battersea branch, they brought it to us! With chaotic colours and visuals, and plenty of cocktails and food courtesy of Cheeky Burger, the golf destination will be popular with the locals and beyond for sure. Check out our previous article (link to Islington 2 article when live) to find out more on the deals they have to offer.

And now, one of the BDC’s favourites, if you fancy a competitive session with your team, or even a nibble and a few drinks, Flight Club is next door to the venue, and is the best place if you want to show off your dart skills! Being quite a popular venue, it is recommended to pre-book through their website. Don’t worry about taking photos and videos either, as Flight Club will email you after your session with all the visuals of your team playing, capturing all those memorable (and possibly embarrassing) moments!

Whether it be a long summers day or a colder winter evening, the Islington area has an abundance of activities to take part in, be it with your team or with friends. Whether you’re looking for your next great meal or fun activity, Islington is a perfect destination with plenty of life and energy.
